CH&CO, a part of Compass Group UK&I, is hiring a School Cook to prepare nutritious meals for pupils and staff in a welcoming school dining environment. You will follow recipes, manage portion control and support daily kitchen operations.

The role offers daytime hours, Monday to Friday, contracted for 44.6 weeks per year, with opportunities for training and career development within a supportive catering team. You’ll help maintain high standards of hygiene and customer service.

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or catering environment.

• Maintain a positive and professional image while serving pupils, staff and visitors.

We’re recruiting an experienced School Cook who is passionate about preparing delicious, nutritious food and providing a great service to pupils and staff. As a School Cook, you’ll play an important role in helping us deliver enjoyable, high-quality meals every day. You’ll prepare and cook food to excellent standards, support the smooth running of the school kitchen and help create a welcoming dining experience for everyone. Our Ideal School Cook Will

• Be passionate about preparing great‑tasting, nutritious food
• Have previous experience working in a kitchen or catering environment
• Ideally have experience within school, education or contract catering
• Have a good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
• Have knowledge of allergens and special dietary requirements
• Be confident working as part of a busy catering team
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills
• Be reliable, enthusiastic and able to work well under pressure
• Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Be willing to learn and develop their catering skills
