Job summary

Mitie is seeking a part-time Cleaner at Outwood Academy in Newbold, Chesterfield. The role offers 10 contractual hours per week with a rate of £12.71 per hour. You will join a team delivering school cleaning services, following Mitie policies and safeguarding requirements.

Applicants should have prior cleaning experience or be willing to train. The job involves working with school staff, maintaining high cleanliness standards and security on site, with DBS checks as part of the recruitment

Qualifications

• Cleaning experience preferred; training can be provided.
• Reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude.
• Ability to work to a schedule and as part of a team.
• Capable of working to own initiative where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to all Mitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevant SLAs, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
• Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Always maintain security - locking doors, following lost property procedures etc.
• Have a full working knowledge of the designated cleaning area and time allocated.
• Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used by Mitie.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance.
• Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are adhered to and raise concerns as per policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
• Undertake any other related duties within the job holder's capability, according to business needs.
