Job summary

BBS Recruitment is seeking a reliable cleaner for a client in Pontypridd, to maintain high standards of cleanliness across school facilities. The role involves cleaning toilets, classrooms, corridors and staff areas, using appropriate cleaning equipment and safety procedures.

The successful candidate will follow cleaning schedules, report issues to supervisors and work both independently and as part of a team to support a safe and hygienic school environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise toilets, sinks, floors, cubicles, soap dispensers, hand dryers and accessible pipework.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors in classrooms, corridors and communal areas.
• Clean skirting boards, window sills, desks, shelves and other hard furnishings.
• Clean and sanitise shower areas and changing rooms.
• Clean and sanitise staff room sinks, work surfaces, floors and furnishings.
• Empty waste bins throughout the allocated areas and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Use cleaning equipment and products safely and in accordance with instructions.
• Use a scrubber dryer machine where provided and where trained to do so.
• Report any cleaning, maintenance, safety or hygiene issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a professional, reliable and positive approach while working within the school environment.
• Be able to follow instructions and cleaning schedules.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Be willing to undertake all relevant training.
