The Chef will be supporting the Catering Manager in delivering high-quality, home‑cooked food for pupils, staff, events, meetings, lettings and school functions, ensuring all activities meet School, Ofsted, Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver all catering requirements including pupil meals, events, meetings and functions.
  • Plan, prepare and cook fresh, home‑made food to the standards required by the School and Ofsted.
  • Ensure food from your section is high quality, well‑presented and compliant with HACCP procedures.
  • Maintain smooth and efficient running of your section.
  • Control portion sizes and monitor waste.
  • Correctly issue, use and account for supplies; follow stock rotation and assist with stock taking.
  • Contribute to menu planning, including new concepts, food trends and styles of service.
  • Ensure catering staff can communicate allergens and dish contents to students / staff.
  • Supervise shifts when required, ensuring meals meet quality, safety and hygiene legislation.
  • Provide prompt, efficient and customer‑focused service, exceeding student expectations.
  • Ensure all food from your section is cooked, presented and served to School standards with innovation.
  • Supervise and train trainee chefs within your section.
