Job summary

King Edward VI School in Lichfield is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to lead a team across three lunch service areas. You will report to the Business Manager and drive a safe, efficient, and financially sustainable catering service.

The role requires creative cooking, stock control, accurate record keeping, supplier management and compliance with Health & Safety, allergen rules and HACCP. You will develop staff, support school events, operate the Cashless Catering System, and ensure

Qualifications

Experience managing catering services, preferably in schools.
Ability to supervise and develop catering staff.
Strong IT and administrative skills are essential.
Knowledge of food safety, HACCP and allergen controls.

Responsibilities

Provide an effective, efficient, and financially sustainable catering service.
Skilled cooking and preparation.
Operate a stock control system.
Maintain records of monitoring, training, cleaning, supplier details.
Order all food and other commodities from designated suppliers.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Hygiene and allergen regulations.
Deliver a high-quality service that meets standards and pupil needs.
Lead catering for school events external to the canteen service.
Manage the Cashless Catering System across canteens and produce reports.
Review staff training needs and arrange appropriate training with external Catering Consultant.
Have knowledge of Government nutrition standards for schools and HACCP.
