Job summary

Chartwells is recruiting a School Catering Manager on a full-time basis (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, days). You will lead the catering operation from kitchen to counter, building a strong team and delivering food and service our clients and customers love.

Join a team focused on delivering high-quality meals in education settings, with opportunities for training and progression while maintaining excellent health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service.
• Have at least two years catering experience, including managing teams.
• Hold an NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Have strong financial awareness.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead catering teams to deliver impeccable food and customer service.
• Oversee in-unit catering operations, including stock, budgets and action plans.
• Support and train teams, leading from the front so everyone can excel.
• Identify new food and service concepts to drive sales.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and targets.
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards across all catering and service teams.

About The Role

We're currently recruiting a School Catering Manager to join Chartwells on a full time basis, contracted to 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, days.

You'll lead the catering operation, from the kitchen to the counter, building a great team and delivering food and service our clients and customers love.

What You'll Do

• Leading our catering teams to keep delivering impeccable food and customer service
• Overseeing all in-unit catering operations, including stock, budgets and action plans
• Supporting and training our teams, leading from the front so everyone can excel
• Identifying new food and service concepts to drive sales
• Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets
• Implementing and reviewing Health & Safety standards across all catering and service teams

About You

Our ideal School Catering Manager will:

• Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service
• Have at least two years' catering experience, including managing teams
• Hold an NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate
• Have strong financial awareness
