Job summary

Link Academy Trust in England seeks a Catering Assistant to cover across academies as a floating role. 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, NJC Grade C Point 6 at £13.92/hour. Temporary until July 2027 with potential longer-term review. You will support the catering team in providing meals for pupils and staff and may cover a Kitchen Manager role as needed.

The role requires flexibility, a full driving licence, and willingness to travel between academies within the Trust at short notice.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role in school or commercial environment.
• Food Hygiene L3 or L2 certificate.
• Ability to work as part of a team and show initiative.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and serving of meals for pupils and staff.
• Assist with laying up tables and serving counters, then clearing and cleaning after lunchtime.
• Comply with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene Act; temperature testing of food.
• Clear up and remove waste; move furniture in dining area as required.
