Job summary

North Yorkshire Council seeks a Relief Catering Assistant to support school kitchens in Catterick, Stokesley and surrounding Northallerton area. Hours are typically 09:00–13:30, with no weekend work and a pension scheme. You will assist the cook with food preparation, cooking and baking, and help set up and serve meals, followed by cleanup.

Qualifications

• Experience in school catering is not required but helpful.
• Training and support will be provided to ensure you are confident in your role.
• Full uniform provided including safety footwear.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook with a range of duties: preparing ingredients, cooking and baking.
• Set up the dining hall and serving lunches.
• Clean down after service and maintain hygiene standards.
