Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or Food Service Assistant.
• School catering experience is advantageous.
• Food Safety qualifications or willingness to complete training.
• An Enhanced DBS check covering the child workforce, including relevant barred list check where required, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team.
• Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold meals.
• Serving food to pupils and staff while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Liaising with teachers and school staff to ensure a smooth meal service.
• Operating tills and handling payments where required.
• Cleaning and clearing down kitchen and dining areas after service.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Following food safety procedures and allergen guidelines at all times.
• Keeping food service areas clean, organised and well stocked.
