GSL Education are currently recruiting a compassionate and dependable School Care Worker to support students with additional needs at a school in Bournemouth. This full-time, permanent position offers an immediate start, with an hourly pay range of £13.68 - £16.12, depending on experience and qualifications.
About the Role:
As a School Care Worker, you will play a vital role in the daily care and emotional well-being of students with special educational needs or physical disabilities. You will work closely with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and families to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and mobility assistance to students with physical or medical needs.
- Support the development of social and emotional skills.
- Monitor student behaviour and respond to any signs of distress.
- Liaise with other professionals and families to deliver a consistent care approach.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Ensure that safeguarding policies and health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
- Provide feedback on student progress and well-being to teachers and other professionals.
What We're Looking For: To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience in a care, support, or school-based role is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and respectful approach to working with children and young people.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Relevant care qualifications (e.g. CACHE, Health & Social Care Level 2/3) are advantageous but not essential.
- Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
