Monnow Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and well-qualified School Business Manager to join our team in this exciting new role. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the strategic and operational development of our school. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the School Business Manager will work closely with the Headteacher to ensure the school meets its educational aims through effective resource management and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school.
  • Lead and manage all non-curriculum operational activities, including finance, HR, ICT, premises, and health & safety.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring efficient budget management aligned with Council and School policies.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making by the Headteacher and Governing Body.
  • Represent the school in financial and operational matters with external stakeholders, including the Local Authority and community groups.
  • Lead on procurement and management of external contracts.
  • Provide professional leadership to support staff, enhancing their effectiveness in partnership with teaching colleagues.

  • Has proven experience in financial and operational management, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Is confident in managing budgets, contracts, and compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Can work strategically and collaboratively as part of a senior leadership team.
  • Is committed to supporting the school's vision and values.
