Job summary

First Bus in the UK is seeking qualified and trainee school bus drivers to operate our school routes in Penzance. The role offers a 30-hour week across Monday to Friday for 41 weeks per year, with overtime opportunities and immediate start.

Qualified drivers earn £13 per hour and £14 overtime; trainee drivers start at £12 and £12.50 overtime during the first year. A full UK licence with up to 6 points, 2 years' driving experience, and an enhanced DBS disclosure are required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of driving experience.

We are looking for Qualified and Trainee Bus Drivers to driveour school buses in Penzance

Working on the Schools rota, the successful applicant will be primarily responsible for providing a first-class service through the transportation of school children to and from their schools.

You will take children to school in the morning, be free to do whatever you want in the daytime and then take them home again in the evening.

Overtime will likely be available – either between your shifts, at weekends or during school holidays – for those who want it. We can offer an immediate start date!

You willwork30 hours a week Mon-Fri, 41 weeks of the year (holidays to be taken when the schools are out).

You will earn :

Info for trainees

The minimum age is 18, with at least 6 months' driving experience. Don't worry if you've never driven anything bigger than a car before. We provide top-class training on our modern, automatic buses.

If you're a patient, safe driver with good people skills, you're the perfect fit for our driving team.

• Trainees need a full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 points) and at least 2 years of driving experience
• Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of how customer service is vital to a successful bus service
• All drivers need the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends
• A current DBS enhanced disclosure will also be required; however, this will be provided.
