Qualifications

• Essential: Registered Paediatric Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse.
• Current NMC registration.
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in paediatrics.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience caring for children and young people with healthcare needs.
• Experience assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care.
• Experience writing and reviewing healthcare plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care to pupils.
• Assess, prioritise and respond to healthcare and emergency needs.
• Develop and maintain individual healthcare plans.
• Support children with complex healthcare needs.
• Work with teaching staff, parents and NHS professionals.
• Provide healthcare education and training to pupils, parents and staff.
• Monitor medication, MAR charts and medical records.
• Ensure follow-up on medical reports.
• Support safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Coordinate healthcare programmes across the school.
• Maintain first aid supplies and pupil medication stocks.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain professional competence through CPD and reflective practice.
