Job summary

A Specialist School in Thatcham is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The role involves supporting pupils with SEMH, anxiety, and SEN needs, providing 1:1 and small group support, and promoting a calm, inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff, receiving ongoing training and guidance to develop skills and impact pupil outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, anxiety, ADHD, ASD.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.
• Willingness to train and develop skills.
• Create an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Help to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Collaborate with Teachers and other support staff.
