Job summary

South Ayrshire Council is seeking a frontline worker to relieve teachers of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and material preparation, and to support learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher and colleagues.

The post supports pupils with additional needs of a wide nature and may involve PVG Scheme requirements. It is a temporary role until 30/06/2027, Grade 4, frontline worker, with interviews scheduled for 28/08/2026.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for PVG scheme membership.
• Ability to support pupils with additional needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To relieve teachers of non-teaching duties including classroom administration and practical tasks such as the preparation of teaching materials.

Support the learning activities of children under the direction of the classroom teacher / Principal Teacher and other colleagues.

Support pupils with additional support needs of a wide nature which include physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.
