Job summary

SSE is hiring a Scheduler to join the Customer Operations team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role is full-time (37 hours), office-based, located in Oxford or Swindon.

You will plan and schedule work for operational teams and ensure customer commitments are met, while maintaining accurate records and providing a professional service. Ideal candidates bring scheduling, administration and customer service experience, strong organisational and IT skills (especially Excel) and a proactive

Qualifications

  • Experience in a scheduling, administration and customer service
  • Great administration, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • Experience meeting targets, deadlines or service standards while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and confidence working with data.
  • Experience coordinating people, resources or schedules, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule work for our operational teams, ensuring priority work is completed on time and customer commitments are met.
  • Keep training and annual leave records up to date to help make sure teams are resourced effectively.
  • Support operational teams by processing and checking paperwork, ensuring information is accurate before it is submitted.
  • Respond to enquiries from customers and colleagues by email and telephone, providing a helpful and professional service.
  • Take part in daily team huddles, sharing updates, raising concerns and identifying ways to improve how we work.

Salary: £30,684 - £36,666 depending on skills and experience + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.


Working Pattern: 12-months Fixed term contract | Full time, 37 hours | Office based


We are looking for a scheduler to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract


As a Scheduler, you'll join the Customer Operations team and work as part of a wider team responsible for planning and coordinating work for our operational teams.


You'll help ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time, supporting the efficient delivery of work and a great experience for our customers. To help us achieve this, we aim to make the best use of our resources and maintain a utilisation rate of 90% or above across our work schedule.


You Will


  • Plan and schedule work for our operational teams, ensuring priority work is completed on time and customer commitments are met.

Due to the nature of business operations you will be required to respond to emergency events including severe weather as and when required, supporting team members in their ability to respond as is appropriate for their role.


You Will Have
