Location: Initially based in Bradford, moving to Leeds Valley Park in Summer 2026.
Work type: Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00am‑6:00pm window.
A Scheduler with the Central Control team in the Customer Experience function at Yorkshire Water manages the creation and administration of work schedules for field team members to meet operational needs for planned and reactive work activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage schedules using Yorkshire Water systems and principles to maximise productivity.
- Liaise with Planners, Field teams and Triage as required.
- Act as a bridge between customers and the field team, providing first‑class service and information on scheduled work.
- Day‑day jeopardy management, aligning with effective work completion, service commitments and escalating as appropriate.
- Proactively manage daytime work to reduce standby requirements and triage reactive high‑priority work.
- Regularly discuss the plan, schedule and workbasket with the wider Triage, Planning and Scheduling team, Technical Planning, Operational and Maintenance Managers, noting risks or blockers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving under pressure and innovative thinking.
- Strong IT skills and experience with planning IT packages; SAP understanding preferred, training will be provided.
- Influence and negotiate ability.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Rigorous attention to detail for right‑first‑time performance.
- Previous experience in water, wastewater or broader utilities, process or manufacturing industries is an asset.
