Job summary

Scena Pro Ltd in Croydon is seeking an experienced Scenic Paint Sprayer / Prepper to prepare, spray and finish sets, props and staging to high standards for TV, film, theatre and live events.

You will collaborate with makers, carpenters and designers to transform creative ideas into finished scenic pieces, ensuring coverage under camera and stage lighting and meeting tight schedules. Immediate start with competitive salary and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer or Prepper in scenic/prop settings.
• Strong surface preparation, spraying and finishing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in high-quality work.
• Confidence setting up and adjusting spray guns.
• A sound understanding of coatings and safe spray-booth practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop and meet deadlines.
• Reliable, self-motivated and flexible with hours and travel.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and spraying sets, props and staging for television, film and live events.
• Filling, sanding, priming and preparing surfaces.
• Setting up and adjusting spray guns for different materials and finishes.
• Matching colours and finishes to samples, drawings and client specs.
• Applying coatings to timber, MDF, metal and composites.
• Producing high-quality finishes that look good on camera and stage.
• Working efficiently to meet production deadlines.
• Keeping spray booth and equipment clean, serviced and safe.
• Following health and safety procedures and booth practices.
