Job summary

SER Limited is seeking a skilled Scenic Carpenter to craft and assemble high-quality exhibition stands and scenery for events across the UK and Europe.

You will work in a workshop and on-site, following technical drawings, with travel involved and a focus on premium finishes using wood, fabrics and vinyls. Salary is £36,000–£42,000 depending on experience, with enhanced weekend rates and 28 days annual leave.

Qualifications

• Carpentry experience including basic joinery, cutting and fitting.
• Experience finishing/cover wood with fabric and vinyls.
• Experience in events/exhibitions preferred.
• Background in shop fitting/kitchen fitting acceptable.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• IPAF or PASMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture exhibition stands and bespoke scenic elements in a workshop environment.
• Assemble and install exhibition stands at venues across the UK and Europe.
• Cover wood with fabrics and vinyls to achieve premium finishes.
• Travel across the UK and Europe to set up and dismantle stands.

About the Role

The Scenic Carpenter will be responsible for both crafting and assembling high-quality exhibition stands and scenery for bespoke events across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacturing exhibition stands and bespoke scenic elements in a workshop environment.
• Assembling and installing exhibition stands at venues.
• Covering wood with fabrics and vinyls to create premium finishes.
• Traveling across the UK and Europe to set up and dismantle stands.
• Collaborating with colleagues to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Working from technical design drawings and briefs.
• Loading and unloading of equipment onto lorries.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Carpentry experience (basic joinery, cutting, and fitting).
• Experienced in finishing / cover wood with fabric & vinyls and other materials.
• Prior experience working within the events/exhibitions industry would be highly beneficial
• Alternatively, a background in shop fitting, kitchen fitting or similar.
• Comfortable working away from home where required.
• IPAF or PASMA (preferred)
• Full UK Driving License.
