Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Scalable Agile Technical Architect to translate SAFe features into scalable architectures and foster technical excellence. You will lead design, governance, and cross-team collaboration to deliver secure, high-availability enterprise applications.

You will mentor engineers, shape CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and IaC practices while communicating complex architecture to stakeholders. This role prioritises in-person collaboration with flexibility for wellbeing.

Qualifications

• IT engineering and architecture experience, including senior developer/tech lead guidance for Agile/SAFe teams.
• NVQ Level 4 in IT/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Eng or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate SAFe features into scalable architectural designs and technical stories.
• Establish coding standards, peer reviews, and drive down technical debt.
• Collaborate with system architects and multiple Scrum teams to align dependencies.

Scalable Agile Technical Architect

Location: Hampshire (onsite 5 days per week)

Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Key Responsibilities

• Technical Design: Translate SAFe features and enablers into clean, scalable architectural designs and technical stories.
• Code Quality & Governance: Establish coding standards, conduct rigorous peer code reviews, and drive down technical debt.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with system architects and other Tech Leads to align dependencies across multiple Scrum teams.
• Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Deep expertise in full-stack software development, modern programming languages, and cloud-native patterns.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering secure, high-availability enterprise applications.
• Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Pragmatic decision-making capability balancing technical perfection with delivery pragmatism.
• Clear communicator able to explain complex architecture to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Inspiring leader who empowers team members to take ownership.

What You'll Bring

• Professional Experience: IT engineering and application architecture experience, including experience in a senior developer or technical lead capacity guiding Agile/SAFe teams.
• Education & Foundational Benchmark: IT / Engineering NVQ Level 4, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional Certifications: Professional developer or cloud architecture credential (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Developer Associate); Agile / SAFe certification (e.g. SAFe Practitioner / Agile Software Engineer); ITIL Foundation.
