Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Scaffold Design Engineer in London for a hybrid/remote role depending on experience. The role offers up to £90,000 plus package with a specialist scaffold design consultancy working on diverse UK projects.

The position can be tailored to experience, with opportunities for junior to senior engineers. You will design scaffold/temporary works, perform calculations, produce drawings, manage projects, and liaise with clients and site teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in scaffold design or temporary works.
• Civil or structural engineering background.
• Experience producing scaffold or temporary works calculations.
• Good understanding of design standards and engineering principles.
• Ability to manage projects independently at intermediate/senior level.
• Candidates from structural engineering or temporary works may be considered, particularly at junior level.

Scaffold Design Engineer

Location: London / Hybrid / Remote depending on experience

Salary: Up to £90,000 + package

A specialist scaffold design consultancy is looking to appoint a Scaffold Design Engineer to join its growing team.

The business works across a wide range of technically interesting scaffolding projects throughout the UK, including complex temporary works, major commercial schemes, public buildings and large event structures.

The role can be tailored around experience, with opportunities available for junior, intermediate and senior Scaffold Design Engineers.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing safe, practical and commercially viable scaffold designs, working closely with clients, contractors and internal design teams.

• Producing scaffold and temporary works designs
• Carrying out structural calculations and design checks
• Preparing drawings and technical documentation
• Managing your own projects from initial brief through to completion
• Liaising with clients, scaffold contractors and site teams
• Providing technical support throughout the construction process

Requirements

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience within scaffold design
• A Civil or Structural Engineering background
• Experience producing scaffold or temporary works calculations
• Good understanding of relevant design standards and engineering principles
• Ability to manage projects independently at intermediate/senior level

Candidates from a structural engineering or temporary works background may also be considered, particularly at junior level.

Working Arrangements

The company offers a very flexible working environment.

Experienced engineers who can independently manage their own projects can work predominantly remotely, while junior engineers requiring further training and support will spend more time in the Surrey office.
