Job description

Base Location: Flexible Scotland, we will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Scotland, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen or Inverness

Salary: £54,952 - £64,738 depending on experience + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

The Real-Time Systems Delivery (RTSD) Team is responsible for the project delivery, design, installation, testing and commissioning of Industrial Control Systems, Operational Communications and SCADA field systems that Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) use to operate primary and secondary assets across the SHEPD licensed area.

You will
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams to enable successful delivery of strategic projects needs to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders to establish project obligations.
  • Ensure projects are successfully delivered whilst meeting the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Monitor, control and communicate project progress as agreed with senior stakeholders and manage project budgets, track costs and control financial risks.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including suppliers and contractors along with attending site meetings as required.
  • Manage project documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting.
  • Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
You have
  • A proven track record of successful project management, preferably with qualifications such as APM, PMQ or equivalent.
  • Experience with implementation of Control & SCADA systems utilising DNP3 and/or experience with the installation of Operational Technology systems would be beneficial.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate project delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This role involves travel across various locations to support business needs. To enable you to fulfil these responsibilities, as a role requirement, the company will provide access to a vehicle for work‑related travel. The requirement will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and if the company car policy criteria are met, there will be an opportunity to join the company car scheme. Provision of a company car or cash allowance does not form part of the contractual terms and conditions of employment for this role. A valid driving licence is essential.
