Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a System Specialist (Splunk) to join a Security Operations Centre on a Newport-based, on-site role. You will manage end-to-end Splunk administration, upgrade, monitoring and automation within a high-security program.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Splunk Enterprise experience, strong Unix/Linux skills, and active SC clearance. The role is a 3-month initial contract with rolling extensions and an emphasis on SIEM improvements and operational

Qualifications

• Hands-on Splunk Enterprise administration and support.
• Experience in end-to-end SIEM operations in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Splunk upgrades, health checks and troubleshooting.
• Proficient Unix/Linux administration.
• Scripting experience in Unix shell.
• Experience creating Splunk dashboards and alerts; documentation.
• Experience with Git/GitLab for deployments.
• Active SC clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end administration and support of the Splunk SIEM.
• Perform health checks and performance monitoring.
• Support migrations, upgrades, and platform enhancements.
• Create and optimise Splunk dashboards, alerts and reports.
• Document procedures and runbooks.
• Deploy and manage Splunk TAs and configurations.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts and security teams.
• Automate tasks through scripting.
