Job summary

Sanderson Government and Defence is seeking an experienced SC Cleared Service Designer to join a Central Government programme on a 4-month contract in London, with 1-2 days onsite per week. The role focuses on designing and improving end-to-end public services in line with GDS standards.

You will lead service design across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live phases, create blueprints and journeys, facilitate stakeholder workshops, and work within an agile multidisciplinary team to deliver

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance
• Proven service design in Central Government
• Knowledge of GDS standards and the Digital Service Standard
• Experience across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live phases
• Experience producing service blueprints and user journeys
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Lead service design activities across complex digital and business transformation programmes.
• Map and design end-to-end services, identifying pain points and improvements.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to understand processes and user needs.
• Create service blueprints, user journeys and ecosystem maps.
• Collaborate with User Researchers, Product Managers, Business Analysts and Delivery Managers.
• Support service teams through Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live phases.
• Ensure services align with GDS standards and user-centred design principles.
• Translate research and insights into practical service improvements.
• Present recommendations and service designs to senior stakeholders.
