Job summary

Evodia Limited is recruiting an experienced Senior Safety Engineer to support UK defence programmes across Maritime, Air, Land and Weapons systems. The role involves safety assurance, hazard-log management, safety case development and risk assessment on critical projects.

The position is based on a hybrid model with travel to DE&S sites such as Abbey Wood. Initial contract typically 3–5 months with possible extension, day rates up to £600 inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety engineering or safety management in defence or safety-critical environments.
• Hazard analysis, risk assessments, and safety case development.
• SC security clearance within the last six months is essential.
• Knowledge of defence safety standards and lifecycle safety management principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Safety Management Systems in line with defence standards.
• Conduct hazard identification, analysis, and risk assessments, maintaining hazard logs and supporting risk reduction measures.
• Develop and review safety assurance plans and safety cases, ensuring compliance with safety standards and legislative requirements.
• Provide safety engineering advice and support throughout the system lifecycle, including safety reviews and audits.
• Support stakeholder engagement with regulators, project teams, and industry partners to ensure safety requirements are fulfilled.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives in safety processes, tools, and methodologies.
