SC Cleared Platform Engineer

Build the platforms that keep the country's most sensitive systems running.

We are working with a leading global IT and business consulting firm, deeply embedded in UK Defence and National Security, to identify an experienced SC-cleared Platform Engineer to join their defence team.

You'll be designing, building and hardening secure platforms that underpin critical national infrastructure, working across containerisation, orchestration and secure-by-design principles on programmes where reliability and security aren't nice-to-haves, they're the whole point. Expect real technical ownership, close collaboration with architects and security teams, and the kind of complex problem-solving that keeps good engineers engaged. Our client has decades of experience delivering to UK Defence and intelligence agencies, and invests properly in developing its technical people, whether that means going deeper into platform architecture or branching into leadership.

Essential:

Active SC clearance UK resident for a minimum of 5 years Due to the secure nature of the role, candidates must be sole UK nationals Hands-on platform engineering background, building and operating secure, scalable platforms Comfortable working within secure, regulated environments

Desirable:

Defence, Intelligence, or wider public sector background Containerisation experience (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) Military transition candidates with hands-on technical platform experience
