Job summary

CMR is actively seeking a Lead Planner (SC Cleared) for a hybrid role in Glasgow. You will lead the development and maintenance of robust, defensible construction schedules, aligning estimates with scope, deadlines and risk considerations.

The position demands strong coordination with cost, risk and procurement teams and clear communication with stakeholders. You will drive schedule governance across projects, review supplier/contractor inputs and ensure BIM-assisted validation of estimates.

Qualifications

• Experience in a construction or infrastructure environment.
• Solid scheduling expertise, including Primavera P6.
• Previous Lead Planner level experience with schedule ownership.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to build schedules from first principles and review submissions.
• Understanding of schedule hierarchy, governance and change control.
• Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contracts.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to lead planning discussions with internal teams, clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of robust construction schedules.
• Develop schedule estimates aligned to scope, delivery strategy and assumptions.
• Define Basis of Estimate for schedule scope with key assumptions and constraints.
• Provide planning leadership across the programme with governance.
• Collaborate with Cost and Risk teams to align estimates and schedule impacts.
• Support QSRA process with the Risk team.
• Identify and manage interfaces with procurement, approvals and milestones.
• Engage stakeholders to secure buy-in to the programme schedule.
• Review supplier/contractor schedules and challenge logic when needed.
• Ensure schedule estimates are validated with benchmark data and BIM.
