Job summary

GIOS Technology is seeking a Database Administrator based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, to manage diverse database environments (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) with a focus on security-critical clients. Active SC Clearance is mandatory, and travel across the UK may be required.

The role demands deep SQL and Solaris expertise, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or within a team. Prior Oracle or Microsoft Certification is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in SQL and Solaris is required.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL is preferred but not mandatory.
• Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for completing assigned work within allocated timeframes.
• Undertake project tasks, supporting internal and external Project Managers.
• Provide exceptional customer handling and documentation of work.
