Job summary

Experis is hiring a Database Administrator in Telford on a 6‑month contract. Up to 460 per day (umbrella) with hybrid on-site work (2 days/week) and SC clearance required to handle performance, integrity and security of databases.

You will maintain DBMS systems, implement security, backups, capacity planning and optimisation while collaborating with IT teams to meet organisational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor DBMS systems for performance and integrity.
• Implement and oversee database security measures and access controls.
• Design, develop, and optimize database structures and queries.
• Plan capacity and hardware/software upgrades for growth.
• Document configurations and procedures; generate usage and security reports.
