Job summary

Pearson Carter is seeking a Data Engineer for a hybrid contract role based in Reading with 3 days on-site. You will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines and platforms, working within an Agile team to deliver robust data engineering solutions using cloud technologies while complying with security and governance standards.

The ideal candidate has around 4 years in data engineering or related tech, strong SQL and Python skills, and solid understanding of data lifecycle

Qualifications

• 4 years' experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Analytics, or a similar technical role.
• Good understanding of data engineering principles, data lifecycle management, and relational databases.
• Experience using SQL and Python.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes to enable reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Support cloud-based data platforms and contribute to the continuous improvement of enterprise data capabilities.
• Assist with data modelling, schema design, and the creation of datasets for analytics and reporting.
