Job summary

SR2 - Socially Responsible Recruitment seeks a SC Cleared Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to advance a large-scale Azure data platform within a major public-sector programme. You will craft automated deployment pipelines and elevate tooling for engineering teams.

You will lead a hands-on engineer capable of autonomous work, turning loosely defined challenges into reliable production solutions while mentoring colleagues and driving platform resilience.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake.
• Hands-on Terraform and scripting experience.
• CI/CD pipelines experience, ideally with GitLab.
• Experience in Agile DevOps or platform engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps toolchains.
• Build and support solutions across Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and IaC practices.

SC Cleared Senior Azure DevOps Engineer - Data Platform

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the continued development of a large-scale Azure data platform within a major public-sector programme. You will join a specialist cloud infrastructure team responsible for providing secure, scalable and resilient platforms that underpin critical digital services.

The Role

You will develop and support Azure-based data services, create automated deployment pipelines and improve the tooling used by engineering teams. The role requires a hands-on engineer who can operate autonomously, take ownership of loosely defined technical challenges and turn them into reliable production solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps toolchains.
• Build and support solutions across Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and configuration-as-code practices.
• Work with product teams to understand requirements, assess tooling and implement platform improvements.
• Support live environments, troubleshoot operational issues and improve monitoring and resilience.
• Lead technical investigations, proofs of concept and test-and-learn initiatives.
• Guide other engineers and promote strong engineering ownership across delivery teams.

Essential

• Strong applied experience across Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake.
• Proven experience developing and supporting Azure cloud applications or platforms.
• Hands-on experience writing and maintaining Terraform.
• Experience working with Linux, Unix or Windows environments, including Scripting and automation.
• Strong CI/CD pipeline experience, ideally using GitLab.
• Experience working within an Agile DevOps, platform engineering or software engineering environment.
• Ability to operate with autonomy and resolve complex technical issues.
• Previous experience supporting, mentoring or developing engineers.

Desirable

• Recent hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Experience with Kafka and Kafka Connect.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Previous experience delivering large-scale public-sector or highly regulated services.
