We are seeking an experienced SAP Payroll Implementation Specialist to support a major payroll system implementation project. This is a hands‑on project role, ideal for someone with strong SAP payroll knowledge and proven experience supporting system implementations, upgrades and testing activities.
This is not a business as usual payroll processing position. You will play a key role in ensuring the system is thoroughly tested, data is accurate, issues are resolved and the implementation is delivered successfully.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel payroll runs and testing cycles.
Validate and reconcile payroll data, investigate discrepancies and track defects through to resolution.
Work directly within SAP to support system configuration, changes and testing.
Map existing processes and maintain clear project documentation.
Coordinate with stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT and external system implementation teams.
Provide hands‑on support during go‑live and key implementation milestones.
Strong, hands‑on SAP Payroll experience.
Previous experience supporting payroll system implementations or upgrades.
Practical experience of UAT, parallel runs, payroll comparisons and system testing.
Confidence working directly within payroll systems to investigate issues and validate data.
Ability to contribute immediately within a project environment.
Public sector experience.
Experience supporting multiple payroll system implementations, particularly SAP.
Experience with other payroll systems such as iTrent or Civica.
Some additional hours, including potential weekend work, may be required closer to go‑live, although this is not expected as standard.
Qualifications: No formal qualification is required. CIPP qualifications are desirable but not essential; relevant hands‑on experience is the priority.
Interview Process: Two stages, with the first via Microsoft Teams. The second stage may be via Teams or in person.
The ideal candidate will be confident accessing SAP, working directly with payroll data and testing, and providing immediate practical support to a live implementation project.
