A leading consulting firm in the UK is seeking an experienced SAP BW/4HANA Lead to oversee the design and implementation of data models and ETL processes in SAP S/4HANA. The ideal candidate must have experience in data harmonisation, governance standards, and extensive knowledge of SAP tools. Responsibilities include guiding onshore/offshore teams and providing thought leadership on data architecture. Candidates must be sole British nationals with prior UK residency for at least five years and eligible for SC Security Clearance.

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or IT or equivalent.

Overview

We are recruiting an experienced SAP BW/4HANA Lead (Data Integration & Modelling) to support large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes delivered across the UK.

This role offers the opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of the SAP BW/4HANA landscape, designing and governing enterprise data models that underpin reporting, analytics, and regulatory compliance within secure and complex environments.

Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be sole British nationals, have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years, and be eligible to undergo SC Security Clearance. Unfortunately, dual nationals cannot be considered.

Role Overview

As the SAP BW/4HANA Lead, you will be responsible for the architecture, design, delivery, and optimisation of data warehousing and integration solutions across SAP S/4HANA, legacy platforms, and external data sources.

You will work closely with Finance, HR, Procurement, and Project Systems stakeholders to define data structures and semantic layers that support enterprise analytics and reporting. The role also includes ownership of data governance standards, performance optimisation, and integration with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and DataSphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of SAP BW/4HANA data models (ADSOs, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, Open ODS Views)
• Oversee data extraction and transformation from S/4HANA, legacy systems, and external sources
• Define and optimise ETL logic, data flows, and transformation layers
• Ensure data governance, lineage, and audit traceability
• Manage integration with SAP Analytics Cloud, DataSphere, and Embedded Analytics
• Establish modelling standards, naming conventions, and performance guidelines
• Lead and coordinate onshore/offshore delivery teams
• Support cutover, reconciliation, and hypercare
• Provide thought leadership on data architecture evolution (e.g. BW Bridge to DataSphere readiness)
• Strong expertise in data modelling, ETL frameworks, and data harmonisation
• Hands-on experience with BW/4HANA objects, HANA modelling, and SQL
• Experience with SAP BTP data integration services (CPI-DS, SDI, SDA)
• Integration experience with SAP Analytics Cloud and DataSphere
• Strong understanding of data governance, master data alignment, and compliance
• Experience supporting Finance, HR, and Logistics data domains
• Excellent analytical and performance troubleshooting skills
