Job summary

Recycling Lives Services is seeking an experienced Salesforce Lead to own and enhance our Salesforce platform, guiding digital transformation across the business. The role combines platform ownership with hands-on development to optimize processes and integrations.

You will work with our Digital Transformation Manager, Data Analyst and Value Creation team to translate business needs into scalable solutions and support our technology roadmap while ensuring security and governance across Sales,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing and deploying Apex classes and triggers in production.
• Experience building Lightning Web Components and maintaining Visualforce pages.
• Strong Salesforce administration skills: users, permissions, sharing, record types, Flow, validation rules.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with finance, operational, or other critical systems.
• Experience managing Salesforce releases through testing, UAT and production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration, support and development of Salesforce across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud.
• Manage Salesforce support queue to ensure responsive service for users.
• Build and maintain solutions using Apex, LWC, Visualforce and declarative tools.
• Design and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems with monitoring and error handling.
• Manage releases from sandbox through UAT to production, including testing and rollback planning.
• Maintain platform security, permissions and access controls, including Salesforce Shield and Event Monitoring.
• Improve data quality and governance with operational teams.
• Translate business requirements into effective Salesforce solutions; decide when to configure vs. custom develop.
• Produce process documentation and provide training and technical support to users and junior members.

Role: Salesforce Lead

Location: Preston, with occasional travel to our operational sites in Cumbria and Birmingham
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £52,000 – £58,000 dependent on experience

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Salesforce Lead to take ownership of our Salesforce platform and play a key role in the continued digital transformation of Recycling Lives Services.

Salesforce sits at the heart of many of our commercial, operational and customer processes, making this a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a real impact across the business.

Combining platform ownership with hands‑on development, you’ll manage the day‑to‑day performance, configuration, security and development of Salesforce while building solutions and integrations that make our processes smarter and more efficient.

Working closely with our Digital Transformation Manager, Data Analyst and wider Value Creation team, you’ll help translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and support our future technology roadmap.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the day‑to‑day administration, support and development of Salesforce across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud.
• Manage the Salesforce support queue, resolving issues and ensuring users receive an effective and responsive service.
• Build and maintain solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, Flow and other declarative tools.
• Design and maintain integrations between Salesforce and systems including ReSort‑IQ, Sage and supplier platforms, with appropriate monitoring and error handling.
• Manage releases from sandbox and user acceptance testing through to production, including testing and rollback planning.
• Maintain appropriate platform security, permissions and access controls, including Salesforce Shield and Event Monitoring.
• Work with the Data Analyst and operational teams to improve data quality, governance and business processes.
• Translate operational requirements into effective Salesforce solutions, making sound decisions about when to use configuration versus custom development.
• Produce clear process documentation and guidance, and provide training and technical support to users and junior team members.
• Contribute to our wider digital roadmap, including Agentforce, Einstein, customer portals and increased automation across the business.

Who You Are

You’ll be an experienced Salesforce professional who is equally comfortable writing code, administering a live platform and working directly with business users.

You’ll bring:

• Strong hands‑on experience developing and deploying Apex classes and triggers within a live production environment.
• Experience building Lightning Web Components and maintaining Visualforce.
• Strong Salesforce administration skills, including users, permissions, sharing, record types, Flow and validation rules.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with finance, operational or other business‑critical systems.
• Experience managing Salesforce releases through testing, UAT and production deployment.
• Strong judgement around when to use declarative configuration and when custom development is appropriate.The ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to explain technical concepts to non‑technical colleagues.
• An organised, collaborative approach and the ability to take ownership of a business‑critical platform.

Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Platform App Builder or Platform Developer I would be advantageous, as would experience with Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Agentforce, Einstein, Tableau, Salesforce Shield or Event Monitoring.

Experience within waste, logistics, manufacturing or another operational or regulated environment would also be beneficial.
