Job summary

Thompson Tractor is seeking a Sales Trainee to join an intensive training program preparing you to manage an earthmoving sales territory. You will train through online, classroom, and field sessions, relocate as needed within the Thompson Tractor territory, and gain hands-on experience across service, parts, and sales activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Experience in sales and earthmoving industry preferred.
• Ability to quickly acquire required skills and competencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete the web-based Caterpillar Foundational Sales Certification.
• Attend assigned instructor led Service Training courses.
• Work in various service departments including the shop and field service.
• Work on the parts counter and in the warehouse.
• Develop a complete knowledge of Caterpillar product line.
• Assist in collection of past due invoices.
• Monitor and report product performance and competitive activity.
• Provide liaison support between customer, TTCO, and our vendors.
• Establish and maintain personal working relationships with coworkers.
• Negotiate mutually agreeable settlements on customer complaints.

Ex t ensive on the job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning must be successfully completed to remain in the Sales T r aining Program.The Sales Trainee will de m onstrate initiative, sense of urgency, commitment to teamwork, enthusia s m for customer service, and dedication to finding s o lutions in a n effic i ent manner. The Sales T r ainee must be willing to relocate anywhere in the Thompson T r actor territory when a po s ition beco m es available.A valid driver’s license is a requirement for this position.

Work is normally performed in a customer or company warehouse, worksite, shop, or office environment. Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position.
