Sales Team Leader - Fast-Growth IT Firm (Essex-based)

Location: Basildon (3 days in office per week)

Salary: Competitive base + uncapped commission (OTE £200k+)

Our client is a fast-growing technology business, established in 2020 by a group of highly experienced professionals. From humble beginnings with just four team members, the company has expanded rapidly to a team of over 25, achieving turnover growth from £4m to £7m in the past year - and aiming for £10m+ by 2026/27.

The Opportunity

They are now looking for a senior sales professional who is ready to step into a pivotal leadership position - working directly alongside the Sales Director and helping shape the future of the sales function.

This is a newly created role that will be built around the strengths and experience of the person who joins. You'll effectively act as the Sales Director's right hand, managing day-to-day sales operations and enabling him to focus on strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team management - training/development, initially you will hire 2+ people immediately and another 3-5 people at the start of the new year, in addition to managing the current team of 3 sales people. The aim being to have a 10+ person sales team in 2026.
  • Account Management - taking care of some of the biggest accounts they have, for all new sales and upselling opportunity you receive 15% commission on top of baseline
  • Sales structure - putting in place a formal sales structure, the processes, KPI's, building the commission structure, and management of sales professionals to support continuous growth not just for the short but for the medium and long term
