Sales Team Leader

Location: Colchester

Full-time, Monday to Friday (on-site)

A well-established company in the branded merchandise and promotional products sector is seeking a confident and capable Sales Team Leader to support the Head of Sales in managing a team of 17 sales professionals. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Colchester, offering the opportunity to grow within a fast-moving, customer-focused business.

About the Company

With a strong reputation in the UK promotional merchandise industry, the company works with businesses and organisations of all sizes to supply a wide range of branded products - from everyday items like mugs, bags, and keyrings to bespoke marketing materials. Their in-house team supports clients from order to delivery, offering expert guidance, quality printing, and a seamless service experience.

The Role

You’ll play a key part in leading a busy sales floor, supporting team performance, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be an approachable, organised, and resilient leader who can build positive working relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Sales in managing a team of 17
  • Motivate and coach team members to hit individual and group targets
  • Monitor performance and provide regular feedback
  • Help onboard and train new team members
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with team members, customers, and suppliers
  • Handle performance issues and sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in a sales team leadership or supervisory role
  • Proven ability to manage people effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to balance friendliness with professionalism when handling sensitive situations
  • Experience in the merchandise, printing, or marketing sector is beneficial, but not essential
