The Salesperson is responsible for improving the sales of company products in each assigned account.
Description of Physical Tasks:
Keep shelves and vendors clean. Place product on hand truck or dolly (approximately 20 to 50 lbs per case). Push/pull hand truck to machine or shelves and load appropriate company products. Volume will vary per account, ranging from 1 case to over 1000 at any given time. Includes climbing in and out of vehicle and using proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct complete sales calls on all assigned accounts on scheduled days and in the established sequence.
- Sell and merchandise all beer and non-alcoholic products according to GDH standards.
- Coordinate with retailers to balance order quantities between scheduled deliveries.
- Ensure all POS materials are used properly and in the correct quantities.
- Utilize sales history data during calls to prevent stockouts and call-ins.
- Request additional placements, ads, displays, signs, price reductions, etc., during each sales call.
- Update marketing plans and tracking charts daily.
- Participate actively in incentive programs.
- Follow up on accounts to assist or complete merchandising of delivered products as needed.
- Prepare POS materials for the Delivery Driver/Merchandiser for the next business day.
- Maintain positive relationships with owners, managers, and employees of assigned accounts.
- Avoid contacting retailers during their busy times when possible.
- Monitor competitive activity and identify opportunities to increase sales.
- Check competitor pricing to ensure parity.
- Seek new placements and reduce PTCs on promotions and lower prices.
- Request shelf space from competitors for new or expanded placements.
- Work with accounts to improve shelf positioning and display placement.
- Train retailers and staff on selling, merchandising, and pricing methods.
- Show genuine interest in the success of each account.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Report competitive activity and prices to management promptly.
- Share beneficial information during weekly sales meetings.
- Ensure orders are ready for download at scheduled times.
- Communicate tasks to Delivery Drivers regarding displays, placements, and POS.
- Maintain proper stock rotation and handle out-of-date or damaged products appropriately.
- Keep vehicle clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Dress professionally and maintain personal appearance per policy.
- Operate and care for issued equipment responsibly.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Report traffic violations, accidents, or injuries immediately.
- Adhere to liquor control regulations.
- Perform all duties including executing monthly sales features and other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- 1 year sales experience preferred.
- Self-starter with leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
