Job description

Straight-Line are currently hiring a Sales/Estimating Manager in Wolverhampton within the heavy fabrication industry.

As Sales / Estimating Manager, you'll be responsible for managing customer relationships, preparing competitive quotations, and converting opportunities into profitable orders. You'll work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure accurate costings, clear communication, and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients in the process, energy, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related fabrications.
  • Review specifications, drawings, and client requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy in cost estimates.
  • Manage the estimating process from enquiry through to contract award.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to achieve profitable growth.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement to optimise design and manufacturing solutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to strategic growth plans.
Person Specification
  • Proven track record in sales and estimating within the pressure vessel or heavy fabrication industry.
  • Strong understanding of ASME / PD5500 / EN13445 design codes and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.
  • Engineering qualification (mechanical or similar) preferred.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
