Sales Manager - Defence Sector

Location: Hybrid (2‑3 days per week in Nunthorpe office + customer visits UK‑wide)

£70,000 basic + Bonus + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Excellent Benefits

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to lead growth within the defence sector, combining new business development with strategic account management.

You’ll be responsible for developing lasting relationships with key customers and partners across the UK, identifying new opportunities, and driving revenue growth. This is a field‑based role, ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships and delivering results, while spending 2‑3 days per week in our Nunthorpe office collaborating with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the UK defence market.
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts to maximise revenue potential.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with decision‑makers across MOD, Tier 1 suppliers, and defence primes.
  • Lead the bid, tender, and proposal process in coordination with internal technical teams.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade exhibitions.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategy.
About You
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management within the defence sector.
  • Strong understanding of MOD procurement frameworks and defence industry supply chains.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Target‑driven, self‑motivated, and confident working both independently and collaboratively.
