MPI are looking for a Permanent Sales Manager, based in London.

Reporting to: Head of Sales
Salary: £90k - £95k
Start Date: Immediate
Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm
Job Location: Office-based - Head Office

Role overview
  • Help manage and complete, as necessary, any Prequalification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Selection Questionnaires (SQs) to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Identify, track and assess new business opportunities, including frameworks, tenders, and private sector leads aligned with the company's growth strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients, including developers, main contractors, consultants, and end users.
  • Liaise with the Estimating and Bid Team to support the production of competitive and compelling proposals and bids.
  • Work with the Board to develop a sales strategy and pipeline of opportunities that aligns with the 5 year business plan aspirations.
  • Find and develop new customers and work opportunities, while liaising and maintaining existing customer relationships, actively follow leads on specific projects, and work closely with the management team to ensure that East West Connect and East West Compass sales targets are achieved.
  • Continually look to find new or potential clients that meet with the business requirements and our culture. Collate and Provide details of these organisations including key individuals.
  • Support with the organisation and management of all sales and marketing functions and general company events
  • Participate and attend industry / marketing / customer focused events to develop customer relationships. Including out of hours work as necessary, for example, breakfast meetings, dinner engagements, weekend client events etc.
  • Attend tender strategy meetings with the Estimators and senior teams to understand tender development
  • As required maintain dialogue with the clients or professional teams as agreed at strategy meetings during tender and post tender period and act as the conduit to establish key project information to assist with our win strategy.
  • Assist with and create new opportunities on and continually update and manage the data on the Sales CRM system and capture details of all key client and professional team members and other useful/helpful contacts including key contact details.
  • Gather general market intelligence and specific intelligence on all tenders being submitted, MEP Services industry, competition and clients.
Experience
  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years' experience in Sales or Business Development in the M&E Building Services sector.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, including presentation and communication, in particular able in the use of the English language for verbal and written communication.
  • Have good knowledge of market sectors aligned to our business plan and industry / market trends and opportunities arising
  • Ability to establish good relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Good levels of verbal and written communication skills.
  • A track record of building effective teams, forming positive and motivational relationships.
  • Research and reporting skills, able to review information and present it in an accessible way.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and use a range of digital packages to communicate strategic and operational information.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Essential
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering excellent customer service and developing repeat business.

Desirable
  • Experience working with or within main contractors, M&E subcontractors, or building services consultants.
  • Knowledge of construction project lifecycles, from design and pre-construction through to delivery and handover.
  • Experience in working with MEP contractors, consultants, main contractors, and supply chain partners.
  • Understanding of project cost structures, commercial terms, and construction contracts
