The Opportunity

An established and growing organisation based in Carnforth is seeking a Sales Ledger Clerk to join their finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, solid sales ledger experience, and the confidence to manage customer accounts end to end.

You’ll be working closely with the wider finance function, supporting accurate cashflow, timely invoicing, and effective credit control processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end management of the sales ledger
  • Raising and posting sales invoices and credit notes
  • Allocating customer payments and reconciling accounts
  • Chasing outstanding debts and maintaining positive customer relationshipsResolving invoice and payment queries efficiently
  • Supporting month-end processes and reporting
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders across the business
Required Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a sales ledger or accounts receivable role
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner
  • Well organised with the ability to manage workload and deadlines
  • Comfortable using accounting systems and Excel
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
