Sales Ledger Assistant – Dover Area – £26,000 per annum | Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00 | 30 days holiday inc.bank | Pension | On-site parking

We are assisting a long-established business that is looking to appoint an Accounts Office Assistant to support its busy finance department. This role is well suited to someone with experience in an accounts environment or a graduate seeking an entry-level position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uploading and processing daily supplier electronic data files.
  • Identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
  • Raising sales invoices for fuel drawings.
  • Reconciling cash and sundry fuel accounts.
  • Processing site and warehouse invoices.
  • Preparing weekly staff attendance records.
  • Maintaining accurate staff holiday records.
  • Uploading workshop sales invoices into accounting software (Dataflow).
  • Producing and recording customer credit references via Experian.
  • Supporting the Credit Controller with early invoices, direct debit collections, and debt chasing.
  • Providing holiday and sickness cover across the accounts team.
  • Completing general ad-hoc accounts tasks as required.
Key Skills & Attributes
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Confident with computers; Excel and accounting software experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management abilities.
  • Prior accounts experience or accountancy qualification
Additional Information
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (08:30–17:00 with 1-hour lunch). Some flexibility may be considered.
  • Salary: £26,000 per annum
  • Benefits: 30 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension scheme, on-site parking.
