An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Engineer to support sales, service and marketing functions within a specialist engineering organisation. The role will focus on managing the sales pipeline across Western Europe, including delivering timely proposals, supporting customers, and growing new business. With both existing customer relationships and emerging markets to develop, this position is key to the continued expansion of the European client base.

This is a hybrid role — home‑based with weekly office attendance when not travelling — offering strong technical support and product training from the UK headquarters. The successful candidate will help drive sales of new systems, support service growth, and represent the business at exhibitions and trade events across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow the sales pipeline across Western Europe
  • Provide sales support to customers and prospects, maintaining and developing strong relationships
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality quotations and proposals to deadlines
  • Proactively identify and approach new opportunities to drive revenue and market growth
  • Discuss technical requirements with customers, preparing proposals with support from the UK sales team
  • Assist with project preparation and support technical issues during installation
  • Act as point of contact/project lead for clients on‑site
  • Gather technical and site information to ensure smooth project delivery and installation
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and industry conferences representing the business
  • Participate in design reviews and project close‑out reviews
  • Frequent travel within Europe and occasionally beyond (visa permitting)
Experience & Background:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in technical sales, ideally in servo‑hydraulic or test equipment
  • Experience managing multiple sales and marketing activities concurrently
  • Hands‑on familiarity with engineering environments advantageous
  • HND or Degree-qualified (Engineering or related discipline preferred)
  • Strong communication abilities with a confident customer‑facing presence
  • Familiarity with commercial contracts and business negotiations
  • Able to manage time efficiently and handle multiple responsibilities
  • Highly motivated, positive and proactive with strong organisational skills
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable in a dynamic environment
  • Professional, well‑presented and committed to upholding company reputation
  • Ability to travel across Europe as required
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • European language skills advantageous
