Visum Recruitment has the pleasure of representing our client, an innovative manufacturer within the automation and materials-handling sector, who are seeking an Application Engineer to join their team in Chesterfield on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role of the Application Engineer is to provide expert technical support to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a seamless customer experience from initial enquiry through to final implementation.

Application Engineer Job Overview
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and support external sales in new markets.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend tailored technical solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle and deliver on-site support.
  • Manage the Test/Demo area, prepare trials, and assist with industry exhibitions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on drawings, documentation, and project support.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and prepare accurate quotations.
  • Maintain CRM records and deliver technical training to colleagues and customers.
  • Handle customer queries on technical issues, pricing, and delivery.
  • Occasional UK and international travel may be required.
Application Engineer Requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge ideally relating to materials handling, automation, or vacuum technology.
  • Understanding of industry regulations, performance standards, and best-practice processes.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical thinking.
  • Sales and marketing experience to support business development activities.
