Job description

Sales Director - GoVo at Royal Voluntary Service Marketplace

Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Sales Director to join and lead the GoVo sales team within our Marketplace, working from home within the UK. You will join us on a full‑time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a market‑aligned salary, in addition to the kudos of growing GoVo, a start‑up tech solution within a high‑profile charity with a long history.

About Royal Voluntary Service and GoVo

Royal Voluntary Service has been a pioneer of volunteering since 1938. From mobilising over 600,000 volunteers during the pandemic to shaping national conversations about social impact, we have consistently proved the power of collective action.

Building on this legacy, we have launched GoVo, an ambitious new digital volunteering marketplace and platform funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery. GoVo connects charities and causes with volunteers and corporate employees, making it easy for organisations to access volunteering at scale: from in‑person to micro, remote, and one‑off opportunities.

With over 1,000 charities onboarded and Version 1 of the platform live, our next step is to engage and onboard the UK’s business community to unlock over 140 million hours of unused corporate volunteering time each year.

Culture

At GoVo, you’ll join a passionate, mission‑driven start‑up within one of the UK’s most trusted charities. We move fast, support each other, and believe in getting things done together. If you’re ready to lead from the front, close big deals, and make a measurable difference in the world of work and volunteering, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

As Sales Director, you’ll lead the charge in bringing UK corporates (from global enterprises to SMEs) onto the GoVo platform. You’ll shape and execute the sales strategy, close key deals and build long‑term relationships that drive both revenue and measurable social impact.

You’ll work closely with Marketing, Product and Customer Success teams, collaborating to refine our proposition, sharpen our Go‑to‑Market approach, and accelerate growth. This role reports to the Director of Marketplace and will deliver £4m+ in annual revenue (mainly through platform subscriptions, with an additional revenue stream from consulting services).

Location: Home based with national travel.
