A respected and growing fire and security company is looking for a Sales Design Engineer to join their technical team in Amersham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical system design with a commercial and customer-focused approach. The role bridges the gap between sales, design, and operations, helping to create tailored security solutions that meet client needs while remaining commercially viable. You’ll play a key part in preparing proposals, designs, and costings, working closely with both customers and internal teams to ensure every project runs smoothly.

What You’ll Do
  • You’ll review specifications, drawings, and client requirements, translating them into detailed technical and commercial proposals.
  • You’ll liaise with suppliers to source the right equipment, prepare quotations, and support the sales team in presentations and bids.
  • From time to time, you’ll visit client sites to carry out surveys and ensure designs are accurate and practical.
  • You’ll also collaborate with the engineering and projects teams to make sure installations are delivered as designed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in technical sales or design engineering within the electronic security industry.
  • Ability to balance commercial awareness with solid technical understanding.
  • Confident working with IP-based security systems, integration protocols, and modern system design standards.
  • Organised, proactive, a strong communicator who enjoys problem‑solving and working as part of a close‑knit team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint) and capable of managing multiple projects at once.
  • Full right to work in the UK and BS7858 security screening required.
