Job summary

The Entertainer in Gateshead is hiring Sales Assistants on a 20-hour contract. You will deliver outstanding customer service, process sales at tills, and keep stock rooms organized while merchandising toys to planogram standards. Flexibility to work in the Tesco space as needed is essential.

Hourly rates apply: £11.15 for 16-20 year olds and £12.71 for 21-year-olds and older. The role offers a supportive team, benefits, and opportunities for growth within our network.

• Handle deliveries to store safely and maintain stock room organization.
• Maintain merchandising of toys to company standards.
• Work in your designated Tesco space as required.

What your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, prioritising customers over task and delivering a great shopping experience.
• Process sales transactions accurately, securely and efficiently through the till points and to be actively pushing your addon’s by engaging effectively with customers.
• Responsibly and safely handle and accept deliveries to store keeping up with the maintenance of stock room areas.
• Maintain merchandising of toys to company standards
• Working in your designated Tesco space as and when required

Our stores are open 7 days a week and on a 20-hour contract you will typically be working 4-hour shifts over 5 days. Depending on the trading hours of the store you’re applying for, having a flexible approach and a commitment to help the store operate, it is key that you are able to work these shift patterns. This might include working hours at any time of the day, perhaps even outside of our normal trading hours, especially at Christmas.
