Job summary

The Entertainer in Middlesbrough is recruiting a Sales Assistant to deliver an exceptional shopping experience, helping customers with a friendly and proactive approach.

Shifts are structured around a 12‑hour contract with 4‑hour blocks across 3 days, offering varied hours including busy periods like Christmas. You’ll work in-store and may operate within the Tesco space, with comprehensive training and development available to grow your toy expertise.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, prioritising customers over tasks and ensuring a great shopping experience.
• Process sales transactions accurately and securely at till points and actively promote add-ons.
• Handle and accept deliveries safely, maintain stock room areas and keep shelves tidy.
• Maintain merchandising of toys to company standards.
• Work in the Tesco space as required by store operations.

Key Information about this role:

16-20 year olds - £11.15per hour.

21-year-oldplus - £12.71per hour

What we need from you:

As a Sales Assistant,we want you to be:

What your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, prioritising customers over task and delivering a great shopping experience.
• Process sales transactions accurately, securely and efficiently through the till points and to be actively pushing your addon’s by engaging effectively with customers.
• Responsibly and safely handle and accept deliveries to store keeping up with the maintenance of stock room areas.
• Maintain merchandising of toys to company standards
• Working in your designated Tesco space as and when required

Our stores are open 7 days a week and on a 12-hour contract you will typically be working 4-hour shifts over 3 days. Depending on the trading hours of the store you’re applying for, having a flexible approach and a commitment to help the store operate, it is key that you are able to work these shift patterns. This might include working hours at any time of the day, perhaps even outside of our normal trading hours, especially at Christmas.
