Job summary

Searchandselect in the Isle of Man is seeking a proactive Sales Assistant to support customers, maintain displays and stock, and uphold health and safety standards. You will work closely with the Centre Manager and other departments to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

The role requires strong communication, a neat appearance, and the ability to handle busy periods with a smile. Typical hours are 35–40 per week, with weekend work likely.

Job description

• Ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise tasks effectively, as director by the Centre Manager.
• You will be a clear communicator and can use a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
• You react well in a crisis, and can think on your feet to problem solve.
• You are confident in dealing with members of the public. You can effectively deal with difficult customer queries and ensure that all customers leave with a smile on their face.
• You have in-depth knowledge of standard retail/operational procedures such as merchandising and stocking up, customer service, product knowledge, cleanliness and health & safety.
• You are always looking for ideas and opportunities to maintain and improve the business.
• Working with and reporting to the Centre Manager.
• Work closely with other department managers .

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry e.g. stocking up, moving displays, carrying stock.
• Great communication and customer service skills essential.
• Smart appearance.
